One of our favorite guest speakers from last year, BOB
MISIOROWSKI, returns to SDF to discuss the making of CHILDREN
OF GLORY, an epic film about the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Co-written
by Joe Eszterhas (Flashdance, Basic Instinct), the
revolution is set against the parallel story of one of the bloodiest water
polo matches ever, between Hungary and Russia at the 1956 Olympic games
in Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Misiorowski produced the film and directed
all of the water polo sequences. The film opened in Hungary this October
to box office records, becoming the highest grossing Hungarian film ever
and the sixth best opening day in Hungary's history (behind Star Wars
2 & 3, Lord of the Rings, Terminator 3, and Matrix
2). A former SDSU film professor, Bob Misiorowski was a production executive at Carolco, Cinergi, and Millennium Films where he oversaw production on such films as Jacob's Ladder, Narrow Margin, Music Box, and Medicine Man and served as producer on Tombstone. He directed international hit action films Air Panic, On The Border with Casper Van Dien, and Derailed starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Prior to receiving his MFA from UCLA Film School, Bob served in the Peace Corps in Central America for three years. Bob also serves on the Advisory Council of San Diego Filmmakers. Come network with your San Diego filmmaking peers from 5:30 to 6:30, then stay to learn all about Bob's latest amazing epic movie! Also, we will announce the winner of the SDF Logo Contest tonight. Don't forget to bring your business cards and head shots! And please be sure to tell everyone you know in the San Diego filmmaking community about this exciting, free event. See you there.
